What we do
The Queensland Exploration Council (QEC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that plays a vital role in shaping opinions about exploration and increasing investor interest in Queensland’s prospectivity.
Throughout the year, the QEC oversees engaging programs that highlight Queensland’s exploration industry, ensuring the continued prosperity of the resources sector in the state.
One of QEC’s notable initiatives is the presentation of the 2023-24 industry budget proposal, “Advancing Queensland Exploration,” to the Queensland Government Department of Resources. This proposal outlines essential initiatives that foster innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development in the Queensland exploration industry, paving the way for a vibrant and prosperous future.
The QEC manages exploration industry promotion website QE-Connect, to promote explorer-focused actions of the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan (QRIDP) and provide essential information about doing business and investing in the industry.
Throughout the year, QEC organises events such as the QEC Tech Summit, where industry experts share the latest research and perspectives in the exploration industry. It also hosts the annual QEC Breakfast and Exploration Scorecard Launch, bringing together members and stakeholders to discuss the annual Queensland Exploration Scorecard findings. The QEC Investment Showcase, supported by corporate partner McCullough Robertson, provides explorers with a valuable platform to connect with investors and industry stakeholders.
In 2023 QEC developed the ESG Toolbox for Explorers, a resource created by the QEC’s ESG Working Group over the past 18 months. This toolbox offers practical tools and resources tailored to assist small to mid-cap explorers in navigating the evolving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) landscape.
The QEC expresses gratitude to its partners, sponsors, members, and stakeholders for their continued support and engagement.
