ESG Toolbox for Explorers, ready to get to work
The Queensland Exploration Council (QEC) recently launched its latest initiative, the ESG Toolbox for Explorers.
Backed by a dedicated working group of members over the past 18 months, a range of useful tools have been developed for small to mid-cap explorers. The ESG Toolbox aims to help explorers navigate growing ESG expectations and understand, improve and communicate their ESG credentials.
The ESG Toolbox includes an outline of the current standards and frameworks most commonly being referenced; an ESG Factsheet on what ESG is and why it’s important to report, and a simple, voluntary, exploration-focused guidance framework to assist to deliver on specific ESG practices and measures that are relevant to explorers.
These materials are freely available to the resources exploration community to access now via the QEC website.
The launch event of the ESG Toolbox for Explorers was a great success, joined by more than 100 members and stakeholders at the popular Brisbane Mining Conference on 22 March.
Attendees heard from QEC Chair Kim Wainwright providing an update from the QEC, the ESG Working Group Chair Roger Leaning who delivered the Toolbox, followed by a thriving Networking Event to celebrate.
QRC and QEC members are encouraged to view the materials, as well as the suite of explorer ESG case studies online. The QEC is looking to build a library of case studies and encourages members to contribute their story of ESG best practice to help showcase Queensland’s ESG competitive advantage.
The QEC wishes to thank and congratulate the ESG Working Group on the outstanding and much appreciated contribution to this vital initiative.
