New QEC Chair hits the ground running
New Queensland Exploration Council Chair Kim Wainwright has hit the ground running with numerous official engagements since taking the reins of the organisation from Brad John PSM in July.
As well as Managing Director and CEO of Xplore Resources – an exploration and mining services company – Kim holds a number of corporate directorships in Australia.
“Kim is a great asset to the QEC and a natural complement to the terrific work done by Brad John,” commented Queensland Resources Council Chief Executive Ian Macfarlane.
“I would like to thank Brad for his dedication over the past two years to improving the QEC, which thanks to Brad, has experienced a strategic refocus and increased membership by more than 10 percent.”
Since confirmed in the position on 2 July, Kim Wainwright has hosted QEC networking events, chaired internal strategy meetings, presented a keynote address to the Noosa Mining Conference and embarked on a Bowen Basin field trip.
“I am looking forward to engaging with all levels of industry in Queensland to further build on our world class approach to exploration and mining,” she said.
“The amount of talent in our exploration sector from a services, technology and discovery perspective is impressive. I’m committed to promoting and supporting Queensland’s exploration community,” Kim added.
